Strengths

4 reasons to book

  • Well-equipped kitchens — Apartments come with full kitchens (microwave, oven, dishwasher) and plenty of utensils, ideal for self-catering.

Worth weighing

5 to weigh

  • Housekeeping could be more thorough — One guest noticed the floor wasn't vacuumed and found hairs, suggesting regular cleaning misses details.
  • Fire alarm sensitivity — Cooking can trigger the building alarm, as happened during one guest's stay, causing an evacuation.
  • Parking is poorly signposted and lit — The car park is functional but guests may find it challenging to locate, especially on arrival.
  • Windows open to insects — Guests are advised not to open windows at night as insects can enter.

“Fantastic location near the Scottish Parliament, we really enjoyed our stay.”

“The room was fairly quiet and bright, with a separate bathroom. Great location next to the People's Story Museum, and the area was pleasant.”

8.1Verified guest

“We loved Edinburgh and the apartment's location, tucked off the Royal Mile and close to everything. It's central but in the lower part, near the palace. You can walk to all the main sights. There's a Tesco nearby that opens early for fresh croissants. The apartment had everything we needed – iron, hairdryer, equipped kitchen – and our room had two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a comfortable living area. We've stayed twice, once at New Year and now in summer.”

8.1Verified guest

“Excellent location for the Christmas markets, in a nice area. The room was airy with an iron, key card and tea/coffee facilities. Hypoallergenic pillows and a very comfortable bed.”

8.1Verified guest

“The location and the reception staff's attention were great. The room had a small, well-equipped kitchen, plus tea, coffee, sugar and dishwasher/washing machine detergent. The TV wasn't working on arrival but was fixed the next day. Like another guest mentioned, we placed the toaster under the extractor fan to avoid setting off the alarm. One morning the building alarm went off and we had to evacuate; staff joked it was a tourist cooking.”
